Grass Causes Trouble
Fresh grass releases heat and ammonia as it breaks down – both of which can harm your worms. Leaves, especially in large quantities, can also mat together and slow the composting process.
Better Options
Stick to soft veg peelings and brown materials like shredded paper or cardboard. Save the grass and leaves for your traditional compost heap instead.
