The Plastia Biowaste Kitchen Caddy is designed to make composting part of your daily routine. Simply collect your kitchen scraps — vegetable peelings, coffee grounds, eggshells, small amounts of bread, and even plate scrapings. After each layer, sprinkle a spoonful of Wiggly Wigglers Bokashi Bran into the caddy.

This live bran is full of beneficial microbes that begin fermenting your waste immediately. That early fermentation helps lock in nutrients, reduce smells, and speed up composting once the waste is transferred into your main Bokashi bin, compost heap, or wormery.

Once full, empty your caddy into your Bokashi Composting Kit to continue the process, or add it to your outdoor compost system.

How to Use Your Biowaste Kitchen Caddy

1️⃣ Add Scraps: Collect fruit & veg peelings, coffee grounds, tea (plastic-free), eggshells, small bread/rice/pasta scraps. Avoid liquids and excess oil.
2️⃣ Optional Bokashi Dusting: Lightly sprinkle a teaspoon or two of Bokashi Bran over fresh layers to pre-ferment and control odour. (This does not replace your Bokashi bin — it simply gives scraps a head start.)
3️⃣ Seal Between Uses: Close the lid after each addition to keep things tidy and smell-free.
4️⃣ Empty Regularly: Tip the contents into your Bokashi bin (or compost heap/wormery) when the caddy is full or every day or two.
5️⃣ Clean Simply: Rinse with warm soapy water or pop in the dishwasher (up to 50 °C) and let it dry before refilling.
