Why aren’t birds visiting my feeder?

Why aren’t birds visiting my feeder?

Quick fix — do this now:

  • Give it time (2–3 weeks)
  • Move feeder somewhere visible but safe
  • Clean it (birds hate dirty feeders)
  • Try better food (no cheap fillers)
  • Add water nearby

What’s going on:
Birds are cautious.
A new feeder is:
→ unfamiliar
→ potentially dangerous

They will watch before committing.

Also:
If you’re feeding poor-quality seed
→ they’ll simply go elsewhere

Birds are brilliant at finding the best food.

The Wiggly way:

  • Feed proper, high-energy, husk-free mixes
  • Keep it consistent — same place, same routine
  • Create habitat: hedges, cover, water
  • Think whole garden ecosystem, not just a feeder

What attracts birds:

  • Safety (cover nearby)
  • Reliable food
  • Clean feeding stations

Big picture:
You’re not “feeding birds” — you’re building a habitat.

Do that well, and they’ll come — and stay.
