Product Overview:

Packed with protein and fats, these juicy larvae are an irresistible treat that mimics natural insect diets. Whether you’re feeding robins, blue tits, or geckos, these waxworms provide a nutritious boost without the risk of impacting bee populations, as they are not viable for development into wax moths.

Why Choose Live Waxworms from Wiggly Wigglers?

  • Farm-Fresh Quality: Shipped live from our farm to ensure they arrive in top condition.

  • Safe for the Environment: Non-viable larvae mean no risk to beehives or other ecosystems.

  • Perfect for Wild Birds: Ideal for robins, blackbirds, and other insect-loving garden birds.

  • Loved by Reptiles and Amphibians: A favourite treat for geckos, frogs, and other insectivorous pets.

How to Use Live Waxworms:

  1. For Wild Birds:

    • Scatter waxworms on a bird table or place them in a shallow dish.

    • Offer during early mornings or evenings when birds are most active.

    • Pair with seeds or suet to attract a wider range of species.

  2. For Reptiles and Amphibians:

    • Feed waxworms directly to your pet or use feeding tongs for easy handling.

    • Offer as a treat or dietary supplement alongside other insects.

Wiggly Tips for Feeding Waxworms:

  • Store Cool: Keep waxworms in a cool, dry place (10–15°C) to maintain their freshness – but avoid the fridge, as it’s too cold for them.

  • Feed in Moderation: Waxworms are high in fat and should be offered as a treat rather than a primary food source.

  • Enhance Breeding Seasons: Provide waxworms during nesting times to help parent birds feed their chicks.

  • Pair with Water: Ensure your birds and pets have access to fresh, clean water while feeding waxworms.

Why Live Waxworms Matter:

  • Energy Boost for High-Demand Periods: Ideal for nesting, moulting, and colder months when extra energy is needed.

  • Mimics Natural Diets: Waxworms replicate the soft-bodied insects found in the wild, encouraging natural feeding behaviours.

  • Safe and Sustainable: Non-viable larvae ensure they won’t impact bee populations or disrupt natural ecosystems.
