Quick fix — too wet:
- Add dry cardboard, paper, or coir
- Stop feeding watery food (melon, cucumber)
- Open airflow slightly
Quick fix — too dry:
- Add a splash of water (or Bokashi liquid diluted)
- Add moist food scraps
- Cover with a mat to hold moisture
The test:
Grab a handful → squeeze it
- A drop or two = perfect
- Dripping = too wet
- Dusty = too dry
What’s going on:
Worms breathe through their skin.
They need moisture + oxygen.
Too wet:
→ no oxygen
→ system goes anaerobic
→ smells + unhappy worms
Too dry:
→ worms can’t breathe properly
→ they slow down or leave
The Wiggly way:
- Aim for “wrung-out sponge” moisture
- Balance food (wet) with bedding (dry)
- Think structure, not sludge
Big picture:
You’re not managing waste — you’re managing habitat.
