Not because of what's inside the bag, but because you knew exactly where it came from.
That's the idea behind The Field Club.
Every bag comes from a single named field here at Lower Blakemere Farm in Herefordshire – the Flat Square. It's about 30 acres, it isn't flat, it isn't square, and it's where we grow a carefully balanced mix of five crops for garden birds.
Unlike most birdseed, every stage happens here on the farm. We grow it, harvest it, clean it, mix it and bag it ourselves, so you can trace every bag back to one field and one harvest.
But perhaps the best part is that the field is already feeding wildlife long before your birdseed arrives. Skylarks, Yellowhammers, Song Thrushes and countless other birds use the crops, hedgerows and field margins throughout the growing season. By the time we harvest, the field has already spent months supporting nature.
The Field Club is our new subscription service, allowing you to receive fresh birdseed every month, every two months or every three months. Founding Flock members will receive a special introductory price that's locked in for as long as they remain subscribed, along with exclusive updates from the farm and a Field Club mug before the first harvest ships in November.
This year's harvest is limited by what one field can produce, so once the Founding Flock is full, we'll be waiting for next year's crop.
