Better Mealworms. Better Birds.
Made with carefully selected grains, brewer's yeast and calcium to help keep live mealworms healthy, active and naturally nutritious.
If you're buying quality live mealworms, it makes sense to look after them properly.
Most people keep mealworms in plain bran. It works... after a fashion. But mealworms are living creatures, and like all livestock they benefit from a balanced diet.
That's why we developed Wiggly Farm Blend.
Developed on our regenerative Herefordshire farm, Wiggly Farm Blend is a carefully balanced blend of rolled grains, brewer's yeast and natural calcium, designed to help keep live mealworms healthy, active and naturally nutritious until you're ready to feed them to the birds and wildlife you love.
Healthy mealworms don't just last longer.
They become better food.

Supporting British Farming
Rated Platinum on Judge.me
★★★★★ Excellent service from such lovely people! The birds are very happy with their British-grown seed, and my composting worms are happy too. What more could you ask for? 🐦🪱
Just carefully selected ingredients chosen to support healthy, active mealworms.
Why These Ingredients?
🌾 Rolled Wheat
Provides energy while creating a natural bedding and feeding environment for mealworms.
🌾 Rolled Barley
Adds variety and slow-release energy while helping create a loose, well-aerated bedding.
🌱 Micronised Peas
Naturally rich in protein to support healthy growth and development.
🍺 Brewer's Yeast
A natural source of protein, amino acids and B vitamins, widely used in animal nutrition.
🦴 Limestone Flour
Provides a natural source of calcium, helping maintain mealworms as a nutritious food source.
Cover the bottom of your mealworm container with Wiggly Farm Blend.
Add your live mealworms.
Add a small piece of carrot, potato or apple for moisture.
Replace fresh vegetables every few days.
Top up Farm Blend as required.
Remove frass regularly to keep everything clean and fresh.
Store somewhere cool and dry.
🐛 Mealworms don't need a water bowl. They get their moisture from fresh vegetables.
🌡️ Keeping mealworms cool helps keep them in the mealworm stage for longer.
🌱 Mealworm frass is a fantastic natural soil improver loved by gardeners.
🐦 Healthy mealworms make better food for birds and wildlife.
♻️ Looking after your mealworms means less waste and fewer losses.
🏡 Wiggly Farm Tip
For best results, keep your mealworms in a ventilated container with a layer of Wiggly Farm Blend and a small piece of fresh carrot or potato for moisture.

Is this just bedding?
No. Wiggly Farm Blend acts as both bedding and a balanced food source.
Can't I just use bran?
You can, but Wiggly Farm Blend provides a more balanced diet than bran alone, helping keep mealworms in better condition.
What should I use for moisture?
Fresh carrot, potato or apple all work well. Replace them regularly before they begin to dry out or spoil.
How long will my mealworms last?
When kept cool, dry and well cared for with Wiggly Farm Blend and fresh moisture, live mealworms can remain in excellent condition for several weeks.
Can I breed mealworms?
Yes! Wiggly Farm Blend also makes an excellent base for keeping and breeding mealworms.
What should I do with the frass?
Don't throw it away. Mealworm frass is an excellent natural soil improver and can be sprinkled around houseplants, flowers, vegetables and containers.
Wiggly Farm Blend has been developed at Lower Blakemere Farm in Herefordshire.
As regenerative farmers, we're passionate about healthy natural systems. Looking after the insects that feed our garden birds and wildlife is simply another part of that story.
Why It Matters
Mealworms are what they eat.
A healthier diet helps keep them in better condition, making them a better source of nutrition for robins, blackbirds, hedgehogs, reptiles, amphibians and other insect-eating wildlife.
It's a simple idea.
Better Mealworms. Better Birds.
The Wiggly Story: Bringing Your Garden to Life.
Nestled in the heart of rural Herefordshire, within The Duchy of Cornwall estate lies Lower Blakemere Farm – the cherished home of Wiggly Wigglers and founder, Heather Gorringe. From its humble beginnings on Heather’s kitchen table over 30 years ago, our small but dedicated team is working hard on a legacy of sustainability and regeneration. Our farm isn’t merely a plot of land; it’s a dynamic hub where we’re aiming to balance food production with biodiversity and since we started our regenerative journey there’s a real focus on improving soil health and sustainability. Brilliant live worms and great service!
I ordered a batch of live composting worms for my new wormery, and they arrived in perfect condition — lively, healthy, and ready to get to work straight away. The packaging was eco-friendly, and the team even included a little guide on how to settle them in. My kitchen scraps are disappearing fast, and I’ve already started harvesting my first bit of worm compost. Couldn’t be happier!

Fantastic bokashi composting advice
As a complete beginner to bokashi composting, I really appreciated how helpful the team were. They answered all my questions quickly and gave me simple, clear instructions to get started. The bokashi bran is top quality and smells fresh and pleasant. After just a few weeks, I’ve turned my kitchen waste into brilliant compost-ready material with no odour or mess. Highly recommended!

Top-notch British birdseed mix
The British birdseed from Wigglys is superb. It attracts a lovely variety of garden birds — robins, finches, and even a pair of goldfinches have started visiting regularly. You can tell it’s a quality mix with no fillers or dust. Delivery was quick, and everything was packaged sustainably. It’s become my go-to source for bird feed!

“I’ve always been interested in farming, gardening and food, but Wiggly Wigglers has inspired me to take that interest much further and look at the whole thing in a much more holistic way. I love feeding the birds, making compost and keeping quail, and our Bokashi kit has genuinely revolutionised how we deal with food waste as a family. It’s helped us close so many loops at home – turning what we used to throw away into something useful. Once you start thinking like that, you see opportunities everywhere.” J O-B
