Effective & Quick: Bokashi Active Bran is a dry mixture of bran and molasses, activated with a special blend of bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. These microbes break down your kitchen waste swiftly, preventing putrefaction and eliminating odours. In just 2-3 weeks, your waste turns into nutrient-rich pre-compost that can be added to your garden or conventional compost heap.
-
Ideal for All Kitchen Waste: Whether it's vegetable scraps, fruit peels, grains, or even small amounts of dairy and meat, Bokashi Active Bran handles it all. This makes it a versatile and hassle-free composting solution, perfect for those with limited outdoor space or urban environments.
-
Liquid Fertiliser: Don’t forget about the Bokashi liquid that collects in your bin. This liquid is packed with nutrients and can be diluted with water to create an excellent fertiliser for your plants, giving them a natural boost and promoting healthy growth.
-
Bulk Savings: For regular composters, our 5kg bag is a cost-effective solution. You can buy in bulk to save money and enjoy long-term composting benefits for your garden.
-
Made on Our Farm: Our Bokashi Active Bran is produced at Lower Blakemere Farm in Herefordshire, a family farm on a regenerative mission. By choosing our product, you’re supporting sustainable farming practices that prioritise soil health and wildlife conservation, including our hedgerows, pigs, and diverse farming methods.
How It Works: The secret to Bokashi composting is in the powerful combination of microorganisms. Simply sprinkle a layer of Bokashi Active Bran over your kitchen scraps in a sealed bin. The microbes get to work, breaking down the organic waste quickly, without any unpleasant smells. After a couple of weeks, the waste is ready to be buried in your garden or compost pile, where it continues to decompose and enrich the soil. The nutrient-rich liquid that collects can be diluted (1 part to 30 parts water) and used as a natural fertiliser for your plants.
Wiggly Tips:
-
Use the Bokashi liquid: This nutrient-packed liquid is perfect for watering your plants. It’s a natural fertiliser that helps your garden thrive.
-
Buried waste boosts soil health: After fermentation, bury your Bokashi waste in your garden. It will break down further, improving soil structure and enriching it with essential nutrients.
-
Seal your bin tightly: To ensure effective fermentation, make sure your Bokashi bin is sealed properly. This maintains the anaerobic environment needed for the microbes to thrive.
