✅ Siting: Place 1–2 m from the ground, tucked into a hedge, climber, or shrub. Robins prefer quiet, shaded areas close to cover.
✅ Aspect: North or east-facing avoids overheating and keeps conditions stable.
✅ Mounting: Hang via the hole in the rear backplate; ensure it’s secure and angled slightly forward to shed rain.
✅ Cleaning: After the breeding season (Sept–Feb), loosen the securing screw, lift the hinged lid, and remove old nesting material.
✅ Finish: You can treat the exterior with a natural, water-based wood protector if you wish, but the bark surface weathers beautifully over time.
