Did you know Greenfinches are primarily seed-eaters, and they have a particular preference for small seeds such as those from thistles, dandelions, and teasels? They also enjoy eating seeds from sunflowers, niger, and other types of birdseed that can be found in bird feeders. In addition to seeds, greenfinches may occasionally eat small insects and fruit, especially during the breeding season when they need extra protein to feed their young.
