Lower Blakemere Farm is really pleased to be a Duchy of Cornwall Focus Farm as the means the BTO do a full bird survey on the farm. Here are the results for last year’s survey (and they will be doing another one in 2023). As well as the huge variety of birds on the farm it’s fantastic to see some species of conservation concern recorded on Lower Blakemere including amber listed Lesser Whitethroat, Skylark, Stock Dove and Yellow Wagtail; plus even one red listed species, Yellowhammer.
Red lines show transect routes, numbered in a suggested order of coverage (although surveyors were encouraged to start in different places on different visits). Letters denote fields and other habitat parcels for bird recording. Parcels with a light green wash are those of particular interest for management. Dots show point features for management.
