Cornfield annuals were once a common site in fields of corn, but then agriculture went through its chemical revolution and the lovely cornfield annuals all but disappeared. Fortunately, their sheer beauty has been their saviour and they prove to be one of the easiest and most rewarding of all wildflowers to grow.

Our seed mix contains the pink of Corncockle, the blue of Cornflower, the glorious reds of Poppy, the vivid yellows of Corn Marigold and the clean whites of the beautifully scented Corn Chamomile. We've even added a small amount of Farmer Phil's home grown corn varieties to add that little bit of extra interest, the ripening seed is a favourite food for finches to feed to their young.

Sow in autumn or spring at 3gm per square metre, rake into the surface and water if dry. If autumn sown you may get more Poppies and Corn Marigold, but the end results are always fantastic.

Just like the cornflower meadow of my imagination Review by Jenny
Review
As a novice garden I thought Wiggly seeds were my best hope of success! Despite not being able to tell the difference between a weed seedling and a flower seedling I am amazing and delighted at the abundance of flowers in my garden. It looks just like the cornflower meadow of my imagination, lush, colourful, scented and has lasted 2 months so far. Visitors think it is a natural part of our wild garden come into flower due to lack of mowing! (Posted on 01/10/2013)
The cornflowers have been particularly vibrant and we have had lots of comments from next door. Review by Sarah Cooper

We brought some of the Cornflower Meadow mix and sowed it around June, I thought it might be to late but we have had fabulous colour all the way up until November. The cornflowers have been particularly vibrant and we have had lots of comments from next door.
