Around the World in 80 Megabytes. One womans journey around the World - with the aim to shake up farming using Web 2.0 and Social Media.
is available nowI'd love your help, I'd love your comments and indeed your travel tips too!
A bit more detail:
The Nuffield Farmers Scholarship selects 20 or so farmers or similar to travel the world and spend time studying a subject that may be of benefit to them and their business and also the wider rural community. I was lucky enough to be selected as one of this years scholars and my topic is Web 2.0 and Social Media and the opportunities they bring to farming.
My adventure will take me round the world physically and virtually - think Phileas Fogg, mixed with Anita Roddick, a dash of Maureen from Driving School, add a slice of Crocodile Dundee and you will get the picture.
I'm looking for case studies of communities that have used this medium to great benefit - perhaps non geek or fairly repressed groups or niches, as well as small business who use it to great benefit. I am also looking for opinions and ideas from the folk in the know.
