Which Birds can you expect to see?

Here in the UK, the most likely visitors to look out for in your garden are House Sparrows, Starlings, Blackbirds, Blue and Great Tits, Robins, Greenfinches (Pictured Below) and Collared Doves.

In many gardens you’ll also find Dunnocks and Chaffinches hopping around on the ground below the birdtable and, if you live in a wooded area, you may be lucky enough to see Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Nuthatches (both of which entertain us in the Wiggly Garden) and Coal, Marsh or Long-tailed Tits. All of the Thrush species—Fieldfares, Redwings (Pictured Below), Blackbirds, Mistle and Song Thrushes—visit gardens for fruit and berries.

Siskins (Pictured below) and Bramblings can be regular visitors during the colder months and Blackcaps are becoming regular visitors to some birdtables in winter, so keep an eye out for them too. You may even see Sparrowhawks, Kestrels and other raptors in search of prey.

And finally… if you live in the South East of England you may well see feral parakeets!
