Unfortunately we are currently out of live mealworms and mini mealworms due to a national shortage. We are expecting this to last for at least another two weeks but as soon as they are in stock we will have them back online here, so keep checking back on the web for any updates. We do have stock of dried mealworms and live waxworms which your birds will both enjoy.

Tubtrugs - Use them for Everything!!!

By Heather 11 years ago

Wiggly Friend and indeed customer and podcast listener Martyn sent me this:

"I thought you might like to see these pictures of some surprise visitors in our garden this morning. I was looking out of my window at the road and saw a cat behaving strangely (let's not go there) and looked at what it was tracking and saw a family of ducks, mum and 11 new ducklings, wandering down our sunny cul de sac, miles away from any water other than the River Avon at Avonmouth. When spooked the ducks shot under a parked car an Mum took off. I'm not sure whether interfering was a good idea or not, but I rounded them up in my tub trug and relocated them to my garden. Mother duck has returned and has led her brood to a neighbour's garden, where they seem to be happy."

Thanks Martyn. Richard says most clutches of ducks have a really hard time from all sorts of predators and so its extremely likely that only a couple will survive long term, so you have given them a haven and a much better chance.
