By Heather 11 years ago

Posy and team are really busy bunnies at the moment and so dear hearts if you want to send your mum a really special Mothering Sunday pressy and think that very thing should be a Wiggly Bouquet, please order NOW - not in a few hours, or days but right NOW! Posy and Flaurie are busying themselves and have to pop down the road to a neighbour to pick the most gorgeous bits and bobs - Farmer Phil is not sure of the technical terms but foliage and flowers that make your toes curl...so please cracker onner before its tooooooo late!

PS Broom is seriously in.... it makes the Wiggly Bouquets this week but it also makes the reception area of the Mandarin Oriental in Washington...Vurry Posh!

I know you know that when we have to stop taking orders that will be just what we do, but we are determined to keep going as long as possible... most popular product today? our standard english bouquet.

Wiggly on Radio One!

By Heather 12 years ago

Well, - as you will no doubt realise Wiggly Wigglers does get a bit of media coverage - this month we have been in The Telegraph, The Times and there is the most beautiful article on our http://www.wigglywigglers.co.uk/shop/foundcategory.lasso?category_id=15 in Country Living which came out this week.

However Radio One has been surprisingly elusive - until that is our mention on the Jo Whiley show on Friday. She had a listener who had used ladybirds on her aphids and then Hannah from Hereford emailed her to say if other listeners want ladybirds - Wiggly Wigglers is where you need to go! Thanks Hannah. I checked it out on Listen Again after a friend told me all about it in the village last night. She's about the same age as me and is still a keen Radio One fan - I moved to Radio Two and Radio Four about fifteen years ago!

No more Flowers

By Heather 13 years ago

Now I am sorry but now we truely have been inundated with orders for English Bouquets. And so I have to thank you all very much for your orders, but please now stop! Just for this week! We shall resume normal bouquet service on Monday 19th - no problem, but until then we just cant manage anymore flowers - we are flowered out!
If you still need the perfect gift for your mum for Mother's Day what about a Mark Eccleston print or some Wildflower Plants?

Flower Question

By Heather 13 years ago

I had an email recently from someone who wanted to know why The Wiggly Bouquets are not organic.
Well there's several reasons;
1. We dont use any pesticides on our cutting patch as a rule, but have never felt the need to actually be certified organic. The principal is in place, and thats it.
2. We use lots of foliage that is harvested from wild overgrown shrubs and hedges that we prune - this would be impossible to certify organic, but to my mind a great, natural way of re-using the best greenery possible.
3. We often buy in extra flowers and to me its much more important to support the local farmer than it is to specify organic - particularly on an item which you are simply not going to eat.
4. Flower Miles; The average bouquet gets flown thousands of miles whether organic or not, better to buy a seasonal bunch produced in the UK, - I reckon.

5. (I know, - I am biased but she did ask...)

Now, there are only so many rafia bows that one woman can tie in a day (!) and so if you would like to order a bouquet for Mothering Sunday (March 18th in the UK) please make sure you click sooner rather than later...
