This product is of the straight-forward "does what it says on the tin" type, and an unavoidable purchase if you own a can-o-worms. However, as another reviewer mentioned, it is nearly impossible to fit on your own, so show off your worms to a friend, and get him/her to give you a hand while they're there!

put rain cover on wormery when we first got it in july so didnt get any worm tea as not excess fluid in wormery - so would suggest you put it on for the autumn and winter and leave it off for spring and summer - have also had some very funny moments trying to get it back on when it pops off as easier with 2 people!

It was great for about 6 months, but the waterproofing like all waterproofing wears out - and it can go suddenly. Unfortunately mine went in the middle of a long-term rain period, and I only realised when I found half of the worms drowned. Rescued the rest ok - but remember to keep checking your worms after you've had it for a while.

Have a rain cap for my wormery (I have the can o worms). Helps significantly in keeping it drier. I have found a small stone placed in the centre of the lid under the cover helps the water drain off the cover. I have also used a couple of small screws to attach the cover to the lid (first one disappeared on a particularly windy day).

This is essential if you have a wormery. It keeps the rain out and gives extra protection. However, you may well need some help when fitting it, as we have found that it takes two pairs of hands!
